The brackets are stainless steel with a black powder coat, for coastal salt and dust, and are rated to 20kg (44.1 lb) each. They hold the panel flat (they don't tilt). Bolted to the panel frame and the bar, they hold the panel firm over corrugations and rough tracks.

As with any roof-mounted gear, add up everything carried on top and confirm the total is within the dynamic roof load ratings of your tent, rack and vehicle.
