Need some extra power?
Being able to add solar, recovery boards and even surfboards to the roof of your rooftop tent allows you to utilise space so much better.
You can mount up to 50Kg on the roof of an AX27, meaning you can get 400watts up there, like @bryce_maligin has done here and still have room for more gear.

This incredible build by Outback Customs is certainly one of a kind, turning the workhorse 79 Series Dual Cab into an absolute touring weapon.
The 6-wheel genius conversion and GVM upgrade by @jmacx_offroad_solutions provides a fully live axle in the rear enabling this vehicle to carry heavy loads and still take on the toughest terrain with a 4" lift and Alpha remote reservoir shock absorbers. For power, the engine has a full @gslfab fabrication upgrade on the airbox and intake as well as dual fans on the intercooler all fed by a @safari4x4engineering Airmax 4" snorkel. To keep the ponies running there is a @browndavisauto 185L fuel tank in the rear plus an additional 85L gravity feed fuel tank built into the rear of the tray.
Coupled with the outstanding design and build quality of the @Outback Customs rear tray and canopy this vehicle packs a bunch of outstanding and yet practical features to make extended touring off-grid a breeze. The @Victron power management system is linked to 600amps of lithium batteries and 400W of solar panels on the rooftop tent, plus a 300W Victron inverter. The canopy is fitted out with a range of lights to provide ample lighting around the vehicle and inside the canopy. The fully custom kitchen and pantry by Outback Customs has a heap of practical features.
The Bush Company AX27 rooftop tent is easily accessed via the rear of the tray and the 270 XT Awning provides that essential shade on the side and rear of the vehicle. The rooftop tent has the Bush Company recover side mount brackets on the drivers side carrying a set of MAXTRAX recovery tracks - not that this beast should ever need them!
